To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its first publication, “Babado Forte”, or “BBD FRT”, by Erika Palomino has been released in an expanded and updated edition, revisiting characters and nightlife scenes mapped in the 1990s. Originally centered on the Rio–São Paulo axis, the book now includes over 70% new content, exploring the recent music, fashion, and nightlife scene in capitals such as São Luís, Belém, Recife, and Salvador. The cover and chapter openings burst with illustrations by avaf, which contrast with the black and white text pages and image sections that compose two visual narratives at the beginning and end of the book, highlighted by the difference in paper type. The flexible grid system allows for layout variations according to the demands of different textual structures, and uses two type families to indicate what comes from the 1999 edition and what was written later. In addition, the design incorporates graphic elements that reference this universe, such as the loose spine, neon magenta, and matte black screen printing. Published by Ubu Editora.
